Montgomery Meadows Residential Health Care Facility
2002 Feasibility Study: Report

Case Mix Index History

The income for the largest percentage of residents at Montgomery Meadows is paid for by Medicaid. The Case Mix Index or the average of the ratings of all of the residents determines the Medicaid rate, whether or not Medicaid pays for them. The higher the Case Mix Index the greater the reimbursement.

The following chart shows the Case Mix Index since 1 January 1998:

This history has shown that the Case Mix Index at Montgomery Meadows has been relatively low with a slight increase over the past year and a half.

The conclusion of Management is that every effort should be exerted to increase the Case Mix Index. There are two major contributing factors in accomplishing this goal: admit residents with a higher required level of care, and transfer the residents requiring the lowest level of care to an Adult Home with Assisted Living.
