Lack of compassion?

Dear Editor, In a recent "Family Round-Up" page, various "nice" aspects of the dairy trade are mentioned.

I've worked on a dairy farm in Australia and because of the cruelty involved, never drink cow's milk now. I use a substitute made from soya beans - and like it better! The cruelty of a cow separated from her calf so that we can pinch the milk is repeated countless thousands of times. The calf and cow call out in distress for days after the separation.

What would we think if some superior power took a human mother's breast milk for some beverage that they enjoyed?

The whole milk trade is a glaring example of man's wanton lack of compassion.
