In Nov.1995, Anthony Marr launched a one-man undercover operation to first investigate the open selling of endangered species medicines in Vancouver's Chinatown, then expose the situation

to the general public by inviting media, esp. TV, to document his purchas-ing of these internationally banned substances.  In May 1996, the Canadian government banned the sale of these medicines.

 

In 1997, 1998 and 1999, Anthony Marr conducted three expedition to India, where he worked with Indian conservationist Faiyaz Khudsar and met with Belinda Wright and Ashok Kumar of WPSI.

In October 1997, Western Canada Wilderness Committee, of which Anthony Marr was a campaign

director, put on the first Save-the-Tiger Walk in Vancouver, Canada.

 

Anthony Marr  took his Tigers Forever slideshow to 60 schools.  1,000 students

came to walk for the tiger

"To save the

tiger, we need a younger, greater   generation

of tiger saviors," Anthony Marr told

the children.

On St. Valentine's Day, 1999, WCWC and Tiger Trust India jointly conducted the Love the Tiger Walk

in New Delhi, India.  Over 20 newspaper articles and national TV coverage resulted from the high profile event.
