(07:05) After 17 years of the ban against whaling in
Iceland, the whaling ship "Hvalur" (Whale 9) caught its first catch of
the season. The harpooning of the Fin whale, occurred at noon, Saturday,
October 21, 2006. The whale was then sailed to the whaling station at "Hvalfjord"
(Whalefjord) where it arrived the following day, around 9:30 AM. A
fairly big crowd in high spirits gathered to witness the event. The view
towards whaling among the Icelandic population is however mixed.
The video has a running time of about 33 minutes but is split into 5
segments, Part 1 to 5. It's the first edition/cut of the original, 4
hour video depicting the processing of the whale.
