Summary:

  • Anthony Marr is someone who tries to help animals that are on the edge of extinction, like the Bengal tiger.
  • According to Marr, the tigers habitat is gradually going away. There were about 8 subspecies of tigers on the planet, now there are about 5 subspecies left, and the numbers are still decreasing.
  • He also helps the poverty stricken areas of India, and teaches people there how they can do things without harming the environment.

Opinion:

Anthony Marr is a wildlife conservationist that does around the world informing people that tigers are on the verge of extinction. He also talked about how weird the world would be without tigers. When he said this, it made me think about what it would be like without the tigers, and I agree with that the world would be different without them.

Another point that Marr would talk about is the tigers habitat. IN India, the poverty there is so bad that they have to cut down through the forest to get wood to make fires, keep warm at night and cook with. In time, the poverty stricken families would run out of tree to cut down and they would have to move their location to another and cut more trees down. It all adds up to eventually there will be a lot less land for the tigers.

When Marr travels to the bad parts of India, he goes into the tribes of people and shows them ways to make their lives better and easier. He shows them how to use the sun as a source of energy and how to use animal droppings for biogas. When he said all of this, I was really surprised at what he came up with. I have a lot of respect for Marr and I really think he is making an impact to a lot of people and I believe that his methods of doing things could spread and make a really big impact on the Earth.
