The mission of the Mid-Hudson Vegetarian Society, Inc. is to promote the vegetarian ethic in the Mid-Hudson (New York) region, educate the community and aid anyone in the pursuit of a totally vegetarian (vegan) cruelty-free and healthful lifestyle.

Board Meetings: are held every month usually on the second Sunday 1:30 PM usually at the MHVS office, but locations may vary. Call for date and location.
Monthly Events: May be a pot-luck, restaurant outing or special event with a speaker. Check this space for updates.

Upcoming Events Fall-Winter 2009-10 :
Second and Fourth Tuesdays through December 8 MHVS will offer a Vegetarian Support Group at 7PM. It will be held at our Rhinebeck Office and is open to anyone wanting information about becoming vegetarian or vegan. Judi Gelardi and Luella Winne, facilitators
November 26 – Thanksgiving Day – 26th Annual Bountiful Vegan Feast - Turkey-Free Thanksgiving Potluck. 25th year! At the Milan Town Hall. $10 Adults, $5 Teens, 12 and under free - $25 without a dish Reservations required, office @ 845-876-2626 or Lydia Diaz @ 845-658-8903
New Year’s Open House – Friday, January 1st, 2 to 6PM. Our hosts, Nancy Gordon and Paul Swedenberg, will offer their hospitality again, so we can celebrate the New Year with our vegan family and friends. The setting is lovely; we can watch the sunset over the Hudson.
January 10 – For the fourth year MHVS will supply vegan Refreshments for the Reception after a Rhinebeck Chamber Music Society Chamber Concert. The concert with the Tessara Quartet will be at 4 with the reception following.
February 7 – We will have another “Souper Bowl” featuring our homemade soups and more, details to follow.
March 13 – Saturday 5PM Our Annual Celebration of the Great American Meat-Out. Church of the Messiah in Rhinebeck. Pot Luck with our featured Speaker Gene Baur, the Founder Farm Sanctuary.
Look for details on our Annual Meeting in April. This year it will be bigger and better than ever, including our first Annual Report, guest speakers and a pizza/bread cooking demo!
