JULY 28, SUNDAY.  Rhinebeck Farmerís Market.

MHVS will have an information table at the Rhinebeck Farmerís Market.  We can give out information and talk with people.  We can also give out food samples (the best way to reach out). As it is Corn Day at the market we will offer dishes made with fresh corn.  Volunteers needed to staff the table and to prepare food.  One or two hour shifts available between 10AM and 2 PM.  This is a good chance to do some needed social action.  Call to volunteer.

AUGUST 11, SUNDAY at 1:30 PM.

Board meeting in Kingston at the home of Rae Schlecht (35 Catskill Avenue).  (Yes, we are back to our second Sunday of the month schedule.)  Call Rae at 845-338-8223.

AUGUST 24, SATURDAY, 6:30 PM.

Indian dinner.

MHVS member Nirja Kumar will prepare a vegan Indian dinner at her home in Rhinebeck. $25 per person.  This is a repeat event at the request of those who attended last year.  The food will be vegan, of course, with a mixture of spicy and mild dishes.  RSVPs a must.  Call Robbie for reservations at 845-876-2626, or Nirja at 845-876-2972.

LABOR DAY WEEKEND (August 29-September 2). Columbia County Fair.

Vegetarian Information Booth. "Where do you get your protein?" "How do you cook tofu?" "What do you eat?" Come answer questions like these and more as we talk with friends and neighbors in this fun and festive setting. Volunteers are needed to help design and staff the booth - come for at least two hours and we will give you a free pass for the fair. Call Joan at (518) 392-VEGI (8344) or e-mail goveggie@taconic.net  to sign up.

Unless otherwise noted, please reply to 845.876.2626 or Robbie@MHVS.org.

We look forward to hearing from you
