The mission of the Mid-Hudson Vegetarian Society, Inc. is to
promote the vegetarian ethic in the Mid-Hudson (New York) region, educate the community
and aid anyone in the pursuit of a totally vegetarian (vegan) cruelty-free and healthful
lifestyle.

Fall 2003 Edition
Class
MHVS president Roberta Schiff will be teaching a class at the
Jewish Community Center (JCC) in Poughkeepsie in November and
December. This is not an MHVS-sponsored program. You are nonetheless welcome to
attend and you do not have to be a member of the JCC. The classes
will be held Sunday mornings at 10 AM. The first session of three classes
will cover vegetarianism and the Bible; factory farming; environmental
issues; and transitioning to a vegetarian diet. The dates are Nov 9, 16
and 23. The second session will consist of three cooking classes and will
be held on December 7,14 and 21. You may attend cooking classes only. For
