Meat-Out
Keynote speaker, Tom Regan and his latest
animal rights title, “Empty Cages”

Tom Regan is a pioneer of the Animal Rights movement and
author or editor of major books in this emerging field of philosophy and social
progress. An author of more than twenty books, his other titles include “The
Case for Animal Rights,” “Defending Animal Rights” and “Animal Rights, Human
Wrongs.” Regan is an emeritus professor of philosophy at North Carolina State
University and, with his wife, Nancy, cofounder of the Culture and Animals
Foundation.
Author Jeffrey Masson called Empty Cages, “the single best
introduction to animal rights ever written.” J
im Motavilli, editor, E: The Environmental Magazine, said, “In
a world where exploitation of other species has become mechanized, the animals
need a spokesman. That voice belongs to Tom Regan, whose “Empty Cages” is a
clearly written, eloquent argument in favor of compassion for the beings with
whom we share the planet.”
Regan will speak at Meat-Out, March 18, 5 pm, Church of the
Messiah, Route 9, Rhinebeck. More details in our
Calendar of Events.
