What's your thing?
Committee volunteers sought
In an effort to spread the existing work load out a bit and to get
more done in support of a sustainable, healthful, compassionate
lifestyle, the Mid-Hudson Vegetarian Society is seeking volunteers to
serve on four committees. Permanent committees have been formed to work
on distinct, vitally important issues intrinsic to the mission of MHVS.
Committees include: the environment, animal advocacy, health and
nutrition, and events. Some members have already stepped forward to
serve on one or more committees, but each of the four still needs
additional volunteers.
The standing committees are all relatively new, so the details
concerning the goals, activities and organization of each is still to be
determined. This is a blank slate and a brand-new opportunity. Any MHVS
member with an interest in any of these areas of concern has the
potential to have great input and impact on the work of the committees.
Each committee includes at least one Board member, but the majority
of participants, ideas and actions are expected to come from volunteer
members. Members are asked to think about their individual passions and
commitments to vegetarian-related issues and consider joining one or two
committees. A committee sign-up list will be available at all MHVS
events until each committee is sufficiently staffed.
