It is a ways on up into the mountains, 277 Maple Lane in New
Kingston, near Margaretville, but a beautiful destination that is very
much worth the scenic drive (call for directions). Grilling of vegan
goodies begins about noon. Best stuff from the grill includes Field
Roast vegan sausages. Soft drinks are on us, too. Bring a vegan side

Saturday, September 13, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Albany
Vegetarian Society is presenting its second annual Vegetarian Expo. The
event is held in the convention center in Saratoga Springs. There will
be dozens of vegetarian merchants and nonprofits displaying their
wares. The slate of top-notch speakers includes: Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn,

the all-vegan deli and comfort food offerings of Karma Road in New Paltz.

Sanctuary presents their third annual ThanksLiving event. Keep an eye on

Thursday, November 27, 1:30 p.m., the Mid-Hudson
Vegetarian Society presents is classic Thanksgiving Feast at the Milan
Town Hall. Bring a vegan dish to share. The Veg Society provides
appetizers and stuffing. Celebrate Thanksgiving vegan style with a
bountiful meal for which no animals had to suffer. Price $10 for adults
and teens (or $25 without a dish); $5 for ages 5-12; under 5 years,
free. We will once again have the ever-popular vegan dessert contest.
To enter, bring a dessert in addition to your other dish. The event is
limited to 100 people and we sell out fast so reserve as early as
