The Miracle Pups:
Jackie-o, Cinnamon, Hazel, and Napoleon
April 2001-These
four precious pups were snatched from their Mom and left in a dumpster to die of
starvation or exposure. Thankfully they were discovered and ended up at our farm.
At first they were so bouncy and full of love like all little rolley-pulley puppies but one by one they began to get sick and after multiple tests they were found to have the Parvo virus. For the next ten days these babies battled for their lives. Cinnamon and Jackie became so ill that their white blood count dropped to 300! (Normal is 10,000+). Limp, dehydrated, and semiconscious, we transferred them day and night between the daytime animal clinic and the all night emergency clinic, as they needed constant care.
Napoleon (photo - right) and Hazel were the first to recover and while
it was so wonderful to see them healthy again the other two just didn't seem to be
improving. We prayed, and we prayed, and we prayed some more !! God was so good as finally
Cinnamon and Jackie began to be able to keep food down. Eventually they recovered
completely and finally were back to their loving and playful selves.
Since then all have been adopted except for Jackie-o and we feel certain that the right home will come along soon. We still praise God for their recovery as afterwards we were informed by our vet that never in his many, many years of practice had he seen an animal with that low a blood count live.
All have been adopted!
Thank you!

New Hope Sanctuary for the Animals is a rescue, haven, and adoption organization for abused, tortured, and abandoned innocent animals and pets. We are based on the Christian principles that God intended humans to follow as guardians of His creation. We are a not-for-profit welfare, protection, rescue, rights organization dedicated to the compassionate care of stray and abandoned cats, kittens, dogs, puppies, litters, and farm animals (chickens, pigs, etc.). We encourage people to adopt and provide kind and loving care for a cat, dog, kitten, puppy, or litter, as well as to promote humane population control through spaying and neutering. We are involved in direct action in rescuing and placing animals within a network of animal groups across the nation, and in increasing public awareness and education about the abuse, torture, factory farming, slaughtering, butchering and the murder of innocents, and the need to spay and neuter. Through the media, special events, and publications we promote anticruelty, love, compassion, mercy, respect, and kindness towards all animals, animal theology, and compassionate alternatives to animal products.
