UPDATE - EARLY 2007
Lilly was adopted by a veterinarian in the fall of 2006 and now
lives with her new brother Coal, a quarter horse and a donkey named Badonkey
Donk. She adores both of them. She is getting lots of attention and love from
her new "mom" and the kids on the farm. Her mom reports - "Lilly is doing great.
She has really come out of her shell like you would not believe. Her newest
favorite game is taking everything out of my tack box one item at a time while I
am busy brushing her or tending to her feet – and I swear that horse smiles the
entire time she does it."
Lilly was making progress while she was at Central New England Equine Rescue.
For so long, she had been shy and reserved with a frightened look in her eye
that gradually went away. But they knew that the one thing that would help her
was lots of attention from a care giver. And that is exactly what happened in
her new home.
People who know and love horses will tell you what comedians they are – how they
are very playful and like a good time – something you never see with the
carriage horses who wear blinders and are stuck between the shafts of their
carriages.
