"We want to add
our voice to all those concerned about the deleterious effects on all
animals, especially companion pet animals, of the detonation of
fireworks.
The light, noise
and air pollution of fireworks (along with the release of dangerous
chemicals) contaminate our natural environment as well as pose a fire
hazard to the area. We are an informal network of cat-loving peace
activists the world over who support animal rights along with human rights
and equality for all.
We commend you and
your organization for organizing opposition to the proliferation of
displays of fireworks. The entertainment value to humans is certainly not
worth the detrimental effect on animals."
