(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 202) This is one of about 7 deer that came to visit Sharon in her yard.  She was only about 10 feet away from her.

(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 203)  These deer decided to take a rest beside Sharon's wood pile.
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 204
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 204) Sharon wrote, "a few years back, one doe used to bring a couple of young ones and leave them on my lawn for a while. She would come back after about an hour and rejoin them. I never dared to take pictures of them for fear of scaring them off."
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 205
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 205) Sharon wrote, "I took the photo of this little one from the patio door in my living room. She was only about 10 ft from me, but you can probably see there was a chain link fence between us (for a dog run). She stayed around for quite a long time - one of my dogs finally scared her off. She didn't realize he was just trying to give her a dog biscuit."
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 206
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 206) We took this photo of the white-tailed deer on 18 November 2013 as we were on one of our walks. We also took several more photos.

White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 208
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 208) As we got closer to her, we began to softly talk to her, and she just stayed and watched us approach her.
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 209
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 209) God created this world to be a peaceful place where no animal or human would ever intentionally hurt each other, and where there was love for one another without any fear. These encounters remind us of this truth, and we pray that it will return very soon.
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 210
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 210) After a few more moments of talking to her, she continued on her way.

White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 212
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 212) On 1 December 2013, while on our walk, we saw this white-tailed deer along the side of the road and took a few photos of her.

(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 214) The deer continued to walk to the back yard where she joined her companion, and they both looked at us. Every time we have an encounter like this one, we always think and pray about how much better this world would be if all humans and animals were one another's companions.
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 215

White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 218a
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 218a) White-tailed deer are God's gentle souls, and for any human being to deliberately harm one of these deer requires them to harden their hearts and souls, and turn their backs on God's creation intent for their and our lives. We are to be their loving and compassionate caretakers and try to protect them in any peaceful way we can from those who follow evil ways of this world and seek to bring them harm.
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 219
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 219) This white-tailed deer was across the road watching us take the photos of the deer in the previous photos. She made no attempt to run away; she was only curious about us and what we were doing.

(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 226a) Until we humans learn to have these kinds of loving, compassionate, and peacemaking encounters with all animals, and stop our horrible exploitation and use of them, we will never know true peace on earth.
White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 227
(White-Tailed Deer (Odocoileus virginianus) - 227) This is another one of the young white-tailed deer.

Lamb - Right Lamb - Left Presented here are just a few of the countless components of God's creation.  Just as we cannot have human and animal life without water and plants, neither can we have lasting peace without love and compassion.  It is our hope and prayer that this series will motivate people to live and act in a cruelty-free manner; that we would no longer hurt or destroy each other, the animals or our environment.
