Seasons
Poetry by Peter Menkin

The rainy days
have come this May.
Pentecost arrived,
and the wind was colder
than usual.
The season brings
a path to the Lord,
through which one
waits on God. The weather
will be warmer still,
and Spring will set itself
more fully on the days.
Wait on God. Look
for Him, listen.
Remember.
Good advice from
another.
In the Church before Evening Prayer
be silent. Pray, too, sometimes.
Talk to Him.
Good advice from another.
Each season passes,
the work of prayer goes on,
as can be done.
We are mortal, passing through,
but you, O Lord, are eternal.
Have mercy.
