Sample Letter to the House Committee on Agriculture Concerning USDA's Failure to Enforce Their Regulations

Dear Representative ____,

Please take action to insure that the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) will be enforced within research facilities, animal dealers and exhibitors. The administration of the USDA does not take action against repeat violators of the AWA and will not support vigilant inspectors. The safety of the public is being endangered and animals are suffering unnecessarily.

Please urge Representative Goodlatte to immediately convene hearings within the House Agriculture Committee to investigate the grossly inadequate enforcement of the AWA by the Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service of the USDA.
