UCLA
DATE: SATURDAY OCTOBER 24TH
TIME: 5:00 – 7:00PM
LOCATION: UCLA, CORNER OF LE CONTE AND WESTWOOD, WESTWOOD VILLAGE.
2009 marks another year that UCLA has used primates in painful
experiments. The annual report for 2008 states that out of 37
non-human primates used at UCLA, 35 were used in procedures that
caused pain and distress.
In the UCLA labs non-human primates are subjected to experimental
protocols, coercive control (food and water deprivation),
sensory-motor deprivation, mother infant separation and social
isolation. The restrain chair pictured above, is similar to the one
used by Joaquin Fuster who has been performing the same cruel brain
experiments for the past 28 years earning a whopping $5,859,480.00
from your federal funding. Whilst your tax dollars have enabled
Fuster to languish in a multi-million dollar mansion in Pacific
Palisades the animals he abuses in his labs suffer tremendously.
We can and will make a difference with your support and voices
for change. Please join SAEN Los Angeles at the 2009 candlelight
vigil for the non-human primates imprisoned in Joaquin Fusters’
labs. Posters, fliers and candles will be provided.
