Animal Rights Group Blows Whistle on MPI

Kalamazoo - (NEWSCHANNEL 3) An animal rights group is launching allegations against MPI Research in Mattawan.

The head of the group "Stop Animal Explotation Now" claims a whistleblower approached him with allegations of animal mistreatment inside the laboratory.

Michael Budkie says "The information we were given was shocking and distressing, not only endangering of animals but potential of danger to the public."

The group alleges MPI falsified research results on drug compounds that eventually are passed on to humans.

SAEN filed complaints with the USDA and the FDA.
