Please LEVY MAXIMUM FINES against Alpha Genesis and REVOKE THEIR DEALER LICENSE for blatant disregard of the Animal Welfare Act (AWA) when their negligence and incompetence killed 10 monkeys and also endangered monkeys' lives and public safety by allowing 27 monkeys to escape. Their behavior should NOT be tolerated and MUST be punished to the fullest extent of the law for this repeat AWA violator.
Animal rights group calls foul on laboratory monkey experiments -

An Ohio based animal rights group is taking aim at a South Carolina based laboratory that experiments on monkeys.
"Our most serious goal is the elimination of animal experimentation because we believe it wastes animal lives, Federal tax dollars, and resources that can be better used to provide better information for human health," Michael Budkie said Friday.
Budkie is the Co-Founder of “Stop Animal Exploitation NOW”.
His group is calling on the USDA to terminate Alpha Genesis's license as an animal dealer – plus fine the company thousands of dollars for “violations of the Animal Welfare Act”.
The animal rights group says the laboratory is responsible for killing monkeys, in addition to allowing 27 primates to escape their Yemassee facility last December.
"(In) one of those incidents, 26 primates escaped and were not totally recaptured for 48 hours and another incident an individual primate escaped, climbed the perimeter fence, and never was found," Budkie said.
Budkie says allowing monkey's to escape not only endangers the animal's lives, but it endangers the lives of people who live in Yemassee.
As a result, Budkie is calling for consequences.
"We believe it is very much like and individual person. If an individual has a number of DUI infractions, they lose their driver license."
We reached out to Alpha Genesis for comment on our story, but spokespeople have not returned our calls.
The USDA said they have no open investigation into Alpha Genesis at this time.
