Stop Animal
Exploitation NOW!
Newsletters
Last June 28th – July 3rd over 1000 activists
from across the United States and abroad gathered in Washington, D.C. for
the national animal rights conference, AR2002. Vital campaigns, crucial
issues, and specialized training were the subjects of many valuable
workshops.
SAEN staffers, Michael & Karen
Budkie, represented Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! at the national
conference. The conference provided a wonderful opportunity for
networking with activists across the U.S. Local conference participants
from Michigan, Florida, and many other states learned about SAEN campaigns
and became involved in subsequent SAEN events like National Primate
Liberation Week.
Michael Budkie co-presented four
separate workshops: Researching on the Internet (teaching
activists how to utilize internet resources for various kinds of
investigations), Research Campaigns I (presenting
information on the Procter & Gamble Boycott, World Laboratory Animal
Liberation Week, etc.), Abusing Our Cousins (exposed the
various abuses perpetrated on non-human primates), and Running
Effective Events (exploring organizing events from media to
objectives).
SAEN’s literature table was
overflowing with informative fact sheets and photos about animal
experimentation. Hundreds of conference participants stopped by to learn
about SAEN campaigns and the plight of animals in laboratories.
We strongly urge you to be a part
of next year’s conferences which will be held in two locations. The first
one will be held in Washington D.C. from June 27th - July 1st. A second
national conference will be held in Los Angeles from August 1st
- 5th. SAEN again will be participating in both conferences to
help educate and instruct activists from all parts of the world about
animal experimentation and how to fight it. More information on the
conference can be obtained from the conference website:
