Stop Animal
Exploitation NOW!
Newsletters Outreach 2006 During 2006 Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! staff will take part in
several major conferences that will inform, educate, and train activists
within the animal rights movement. SAEN’s Executive Director, Michael Budkie will be addressing the 2006
International Primate Protection League (IPPL) membership conference on
the current status of primate experimentation in the U.S. The conference
takes place on March 24th – 26th at the serene IPPL sanctuary in
Summerville, SC. We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank IPPL for
their financial support during the last three years. IPPL’s grants to
SAEN have been crucial in our work opposing primate experimentation by
allowing SAEN staff to obtain essential documents and to travel to key
cities for vital media events which are making a real difference for the
thousands of primates imprisoned in U.S. labs. Dr. Shirley McGreal,
IPPL’s founder, has always been extremely supportive of SAEN’s efforts
by providing direction in obtaining information and performing
investigations. The Vegetarian Summerfest takes place in Johnstown, PA from July 5th
– 9th. This conference brings together hundreds of people who are
interested in vegetarianism for five days of workshops on health,
cooking, and animal & environmental issues.
The Animal Rights 2006 (AR2006) conference is in Washington, DC and
runs from August 10th -14th. SAEN staff will help to present workshops
and panels at this conference. Previous workshops in which we have
participated include: Our goal in attending all of these conferences is to further educate
activists across the U.S. about the criminal abuse that is an integral
part of every animal experiment and empower them to effectively target
and expose animal laboratories in their areas. Additionally, these
conferences allow us to network with activists to promote wider
participation in SAEN campaigns. We encourage you to take the opportunity to participate in these
conferences. If you plan to attend any of these events, check out our
presentation to get the latest updates on all of our campaigns and
investigative techniques. Also, please stop by the Stop Animal
Exploitation NOW! table and say hello as we enjoy meeting as many of our
supporters as possible.
