SAEN is Growing - NOW Fighting for Freedom of Exotic Animals
SAEN is dedicated to the elimination of animal experimentation across
the U.S. Our work in this area is often connected to other areas of
animal abuse. One of the most closely related animal issues involves the
exploitation of captive exotic animals. The same issues frequently face
primates whether they are held captive in labs or for sale in the exotic
animal trade. However, exotic animal issues also involve many other
species, including everything from elephants to big cats.

One of SAEN’s closest allies in our work for animals has always been
Don Elroy, an expert in dealing with exotic animal issues. Whether it
has been providing information about animal dealers or helping with the
filing of official complaints against laboratories (as well as the news
conferences to announce the complaints), Don has always been an asset to
SAEN. Many of our successes, including the recent revelations of abuse
inside Charles River Labs, Bioreliance, and Tufts University were due to
leads provided by Don.
We are happy to announce that Don Elroy has joined SAEN’s staff as an
exotic animal specialist. His work will focus on many issues including
elephants in captivity, the abuse of exotic animals by dealers, etc. We
know that Don’s expertise and dedication will continue to be an asset to
SAEN and all of the animals.
