"Exposing the truth to wipe out animal experimentation"

Thirty-six Monkeys freed in Nepal !!

Previous issues of The Defender reported that SAEN was a key player in the campaign to ban the breeding and exportation of monkeys from Nepal to the U.S. for use in experimentation. These monkeys were destined for the Southwest Foundation for Biomedical Research (SWFBR) of San Antonio, TX, one of the eight National Primate Research Centers.

Not only has the Nepalese government banned the exportation of primates, but thirty-six primates who had previously been captured for this breeding program have now been freed!

This victory was the result of the work of many organizations including the International Primate Protection League, Wildlife Watch Group (Nepal), Gateway to Hell Campaign, and SAEN. Our contributions included providing crucial documents about SWFBR’s federal funding, as well as

incriminating reports revealing horrific Animal Welfare Act violations, such as performing a post-mortem on a still living baboon.

It is wonderful to hear that animals who had been destined for the suffering of captivity in an animal lab are now enjoying the freedom of their natural habitat!
