Real ‘domestic terrorists' are those who run animal research labs,
says national watchdog, group, citing a puppy drowning in Michigan lab
DETROIT, MI – The drowning death of a 3-month old puppy in Michigan
is just one reason the executive director of a national research
watchdog organization will charge here next Monday that the real
"domestic terrorists" are those who run animal research laboratories –
especially in Michigan.
At a major news conference MONDAY, April 21, at 10:15 a.m. at the
Smart Detroit Conference Center (Global Board Room #1, 645 Griswold) by
SAEN, a non-profit, national research watchdog group based in Ohio.
SAEN will disclose internal documents of animal cruelty at Michigan
State University, U. of Michigan and MPI research labs, including one at
Michigan where hundreds of primates have gone insane, and another at MSU
where the puppy was found drowned to death.
SAEN said whistle blowers from Michigan labs have testified that the
labs are "a literal Holocaust on animals."
SAEN executive director Michael Budkie says he has collected, using
internal reports and government records, evidence suggesting that crime
by animal researchers has increased inside labs by about 90 percent in
recent years.
Budkie is conducting a tour of research facilities throughout six
Midwest states this month as part of World Laboratory Animal Liberation
Week.
