Whistle blowers charge MPI labs falsify data,
use abused animals in experiments, says national research watchdog group
KALAMAZOO, MI – Research data is falsified and animals
used in other research are so abused they invalidate any research data,
according to whistle blowers connected to MPI laboratories, charged a
national animal research watchdog group today.
Details will be release at a major news conference
MONDAY, April 21, at 2:45 p.m. at the Staybridge Suites Hotel (2001
Seneca Drive) Kalamazoo Room, hosted by SAEN, a non-profit, Ohio-based
watchdog group.
SAEN executive director Michael Budkie will comment on
the state of research at MPI, and around the country, where he says
internal reports and government records provide evidence suggesting that
crime by animal researchers has increased inside labs by about 90
percent in recent years.
SAEN will also make public comments by whistle blowers
who worked at MPI. They called the labs "a literal Holocaust on
animals," and commented that: "I could not leave MPI soon
enough...falsification of data happens all the time."
Budkie is conducting a tour of research facilities
throughout six Midwest states this month as part of World Laboratory
Animal Liberation Week to disclose information showing animal
researchers have been breaking federal laws regularly, and are not being
charged.
