Bristol Myers Negligence kills another animal; Watchdog Group Releases Federal Report
PRINCETON/TRENTON, NJ – Bristol Myers Squibb, headquartered in Princeton
(NJ), has killed another animal through negligence, as disclosed in a USDA
report obtained today by SAEN
This report discloses that an animal was negligently killed in the Bristol
Myers lab on December 17, 2011. The report discloses that the animal
was left unattended while restrained during a medical procedure and died.
This same facility has also killed a monkey through negligence during cage
sterilization, literally boiling the animal alive. This incident was
disclosed in a USDA inspection report dated 8-3-11.
Research Watchdog Organization, SAEN (Stop Animal Exploitation Now), filed
an official complaint with the USDA over the previous incident and will do
so shortly regarding this most recent animal death.
“It is time for the Eastern Region of the USDA to take meaningful action
against this lab and others that have killed animals horribly,” said Michael
A. Budkie, A.H.T., Executive Director, SAEN. “This part of the USDA is
literally letting labs get away with murder.”
The USDA inspection report is available upon request from SAEN.
