About Us

Sierra Malichi looks into its future

What once was started as an urgent and sporadic rescue, persisted and kept growing. Four years had gone since the first deer arrived, By now, many fawns had seen their first light in the Refuge, we had taken good care of all the deer since then, but it’s not possible to have this number of deer in such a small place, a single deer needs at least 12 acres of prime deer habitat to find enough food, cover and protection, they need space to avoid social stress and hierarchy conflicts.

We have an ambitious project in mind for our deer friends, we are planning to buy at least 1200 acres of excellent deer’s natural habitat, close quarters to a more extended and well protected range. In this place several separated pens will be constructed to hold different whitetail deer subspecies, in order to keep them apart and untouched genetically. A small, but well equipped hospital and several small separated pens, are also planned to be built, we need them to attend injured or sickness treated animals.
