Anti-PZP Antibody Titer Testing
This article is a reprint from the Science and
Conservation Center
The SCC also has the capability to measure the blood
concentrations (titers) of anti-PZP antibodies in various taxon groups.
Currently, the Center has the capapbility to measure antibody titers in
equids (the horse family), cervids (the deer family), bovids (the cow
family), and ovids/caprtids (sheep/goat families). The measurement of
antibody titers is useful in assessing the value of new adjuvants,
altered doses or timing of booster inoculations of PZP, or efficacy in
new species. Costs are approximately $20/assay (see Deigert et al. 2003;
Lyda et al. 2005).
