Animal Rights Protest
From FOX23 News
In Albany County, a group protested animal rights on Saturday, calling attention to animal testing at Albany Medical Center. The group, Adirondack Animal Rights, says millions of animals are killed each year in research labs around the world. They believe there are humane alternatives to animal testing like clinical research even mathematical modeling. Albany Med says they stand by their animal research, saying its led to breakthroughs in the treatment of many diseases. The group held pictures of dogs and monkeys at today's protest, but Albany Med says 99% of their animal testing is done on mice and rats bred for medical research.
