Dog's worst enemy

Tuckahoe, N.Y.: So the American Humane Association has “officially” okayed the movie “A Dog’s Purpose”? That’s kinda like the fox announcing the henhouse is “perfectly safe.” The AHA relies on public donations and subsidies from the movie industry to operate. It’s their bread and butter; of course they deny wrongdoing. It’s not okay that the dog merely suffered for a few seconds.

Indeed, the “No animals were harmed” AHA seal has been criticized many times before, even the Hollywood Reporter did a major expose of the cruelty the AHA has ignored. Undercover video is one of the most important tools we have to combat animal abuse, be it in movies, circuses, laboratories, etc.; always look beyond what the exploiters show you. Not doing so is what gets animals harmed, tortured and killed; they hope the public won’t ask questions, will accept their word and not look behind the curtain. Kiley Blackman
