Go here to find events to help end the use of animals in laboratories - World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week (WLALW)
World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week, April 18th - 26th, is rapidly approaching. So far the energy surrounding this crucial date for animals has been great! We already have events registered in Davis/Sacramento, Los Angeles & San Diego CA; New Haven, CT; Maitland, FL; Boston & Cambridge, MA; Ann Arbor & East Lansing, MI; Concord, NH; Columbus, OH; Philadelphia, PA; Austin, TX; and Richmond, VA. We are still over a month away and we already have 14 events scheduled -- that is an excellent start!
But we still need to hear from dozens of cities! Millions of animals from rats, mice and birds to dogs and cats to chimpanzees suffer in laboratories every day. They are depending on us to fight for their freedom.
The two Stop Animal Exploitation NOW! and World Laboratory Animal Libeation Week websites have many resources that will be helpful in your organizing. Sections of our main website have fact sheets about product testing, primate experimentation, a general flyer about animal experimentation, as well as materials focusing on specific labs.
The use of non-human primates in laboratories has reached an all-time high of 69,990! With the recent national media interest in primate experimentation, it is vital for us to keep the pressure on facilities that experiment on these, our closest relatives.
Our Government Grants Promoting Cruelty to Animals Section contains detailed information including research protocols, grant applications, and journal articles relevant to over 120 different researchers spread throughout 47 laboratories in 24 states -- many of these projects involve experimentation on non-human primates.
The articles and reports section contains informative discussions of many different aspects of the animal experimentation issue as well as data about specific facilities.
Our website dedicated to World Laboratory Animal Liberation Week currently contains a sign-up form for this year’s event, and listings of events from previous years. It is very important that we are aware of all WLALW events so that we may help in their promotion and media exposure, so please sign up with the details of your events as soon as possible. When your event is posted on our website, more activists will be able to attend.
Please make plans for events in your area and let us know ASAP so we can help in their promotion by posting them on our website.
Get involved today!!!
