Tell Tulane University School of Medicine to stop cutting open live pigs and practicing procedures on them. Urge them to follow the American College of Surgeons' approved simulators for this kind of training.

As a concerned citizen, I am writing to ask that Tulane University School of Medicine immediately replace the use of live pigs with validated nonanimal training methods in its Advanced Trauma Life Support courses. Your state-of-the-art medical simulation center allows you to replace this animal use immediately. As a leader in medical training, Tulane owes its patients and physicians the highest level of medical training. Unfortunately, that level is not currently being reached in the university’s ATLS courses. More than 95 percent of your peers exclusively use human-based medical simulators instead of live animals to teach ATLS surgical skills. Please join them.

Thank you for everything you do for animals!
