Jungle Friends
Primate Sanctuary
August 2016
The Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is reacting to attacks by wild animals in exhibits where there is public contact. APHIS has proposed amendments to the Animal Welfare Act.
These changes would prohibit
the public from direct physical contact with big cats, bears, or nonhuman
primates of any age.
APHIS is reaching out to YOU to comment on the matter, we have until August
31st -- only 3 days left! Jungle Friends is encouraging our followers to
voice their support for these proposed amendments.

Jungle Friends is home to monkeys who were used for public displays. Max
and April were forced to travel to fairs and carnivals so people could take
a photo with a monkey! Jungle Friends is actively against traveling shows
such as monkey photo ops and monkey rodeos.
The sad reality is that many of these monkeys have their teeth extracted,
are kept in diapers and chains, and often isolated from their own species.
Jungle Friends also recognizes the importance of this issue for bears and
big cats.
Murphy Brown submitted her comments!
Please submit your comment to protect countless big cats, bears and non-human primates from being handled by the public!
Thank you for everything you do for animals!
