Pro-Life<\/h2>\n

We hear a lot of Christians claiming to be pro-life, but when we look at most of them closer, and at their lifestyles, we find that they really aren\u2019t pro-life, for they support the killing of other living beings; all they seem to be is against human abortions.<\/p>\n

Many of them support war, or capital punishment, or hunting, fishing, and killing and eating other animals. These are all pro-killing and not pro-life.<\/p>\n

In Isaiah 11:9, the prophet tells us what it takes for people to be truly pro-life.<\/p>\n

9. They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
\nFor the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
\nAs the waters cover the sea.
\nNASB<\/p>\n

This seems to be very clear. If we are truly filled with the knowledge of the Lord, we could not in any way hurt or destroy any part of God\u2019s creation, which includes other human beings, all the other animals, and the environment in which we all live.<\/p>\n

Now, let\u2019s take a look at one of the Ten Commandments: Exodus 20:13<\/p>\n

13. “You shall not murder.
\nNASB<\/p>\n

Some people may quote this verse as \u201cYou shall not kill\u201d, but the real intent is to not murder, but let\u2019s think about this a little further. To kill could include accidentally running over a small animal with our car, or accidentally walking on a small bug, which is not the intent of this verse. The intent of this verse is addressing people who intentionally kill another living being, or have someone else do it for them; an example would be the people who buy packaged meat in the supermarket.<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s look at a few examples of what it means to be pro-life:<\/p>\n

War, capital punishment, hunting and fishing are all preplanned or premeditated acts, which puts them under the category of murder and not pro-life, so people who are pro-life wouldn\u2019t do any of these things.<\/p>\n

People buy weapons to use for hunting land animals, and for killing other human beings; they buy fishing gear to kill fish, and they buy the tortured remains of animals to eat, all of which fall under the category of premeditated murder or pro-death. True pro-life people wouldn\u2019t even think of doing these things.<\/p>\n

Real pro-life people live as peacemaking children of God for the benefit of the whole of God\u2019s creation.<\/p>\n
