We believe that the animal food industry\u2019s approach to selling their products is a form of brainwashing to have people become indifferent to the suffering of animals.<\/p>\n

K, a nurse correspondent of ours, sent us the following example of how this brainwashing works with people.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been working with a patient here whose life long partner told me that when he was 11 years old he somehow witnessed the slaughter of pigs at Oscar Meyer. (They used to slaughter their own pigs back then.) He said that what he saw and heard was so horrible that he was not able to eat pork as a kid.\u201d<\/p>\n

This shows that prior to being 11 years old, he had been the victim of societal brainwashing into believing that animals didn\u2019t suffer, and that there was nothing wrong with eating them; but upon witnessing the truth, he refused to eat pigs. We don\u2019t know why the refusal to eat pigs didn\u2019t extend to other animals, but it may give us a clue as to why he was subject to brainwashing later in life as K relates:<\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, today he eats pork and other animals\u2019 flesh. We had quite a discussion in which he quietly agreed with everything I was saying but then he went home and, according to his girlfriend (my patient), he ate a pound of bacon for breakfast.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so thankful that I woke up and realized that I can no longer be part of this abuse and cruelty.\u201d<\/p>\n

Today, we believe that almost everyone knows what happens to animals, but because of societal pressures and institutional brainwashing, most people harden their hearts and souls against facing the truth.<\/p>\n
