What is GMO?<\/h2>\n

A GMO (genetically modified organism) is the result of a laboratory process where genes from the DNA of one species are extracted and artificially forced into the genes of an unrelated plant or animal. The foreign genes may come from bacteria, viruses, insects, animals, or even humans. Because this involves the transfer of genes, GMOs are also known as \u201ctransgenic\u201d organisms.<\/p>\n

If we look at this from a Biblical perspective, we see that God created every animal \u201cafter their kind\u201d, which means that their genes were perfect for each animal and were not to be mixed with other species, as is happening with GMOs.<\/p>\n

When unrelated genes are intermixed, things go wrong, such as with a horse and a donkey mating. The offspring of this union is a mule, which cannot have children.<\/p>\n

God also created perfect food plants for us and the other animals to eat, and GMOs are replacing a lot of our plant foods, and no one knows the long term effects of these GMO foods.<\/p>\n
