Smoothie with Banana, Cantaloupe, Collard Greens, and Nectarine<\/h2>\n

Ingredients:<\/h3>\n

1\/2 Cantaloupe
\n1 lb. Collard Greens, fresh, frozen, or cooked
\n2 or more Bananas
\n2 or more nectarines
\n2 tbsp. Flaxseed, whole dark
\n1\/8 tsp. Stevia Extract, powder
\n1-1\/2 cups Ice<\/p>\n

Preparation:<\/h3>\n

We each have two 12-oz. glasses of a vegan smoothie for our breakfast (or any\u00a0 other time of the day), so we\u00a0 usually completely fill the large container of our Vita-Mix high speed blender.\u00a0 If you wish to make a smaller amount, cut the recipe in half.<\/p>\n

Wash the cantaloupe, cut lengthwise in half.\u00a0 In a high speed blender, even the cantaloupe\u00a0 seeds can be blended into the smoothie; so we place the seeds and peeled pieces\u00a0 of the cantaloupe in the bottom of the blender container.<\/p>\n

Peel 2 of the bananas, and add the bananas to the blender container, forming a bowl in the center of the container for the flax seeds and stevia so that the seeds don’t touch the sides of the container.<\/p>\n

Wash 2 nectarines, slice, remove the pits, and place in the blender container.<\/p>\n

Wash and clean the fresh collard greens, and add to the blender container until it is\u00a0 3\/4 full with the fresh, frozen or cooked greens, add the ice, cover, and run the blender at high\u00a0 speed until the ingredients are smooth, using the tamper as required.<\/p>\n

While the blender is still running at high speed, add any remaining greens, extra bananas, nectarines and ice through the hole in the cover to fill the container and achieve the desired\u00a0 consistency of the smoothie.<\/p>\n

Pour into glasses and serve with a straw. Enjoy!<\/p>\n
