John 9:4 Bible Commentary
\n<\/strong>“We must work the works of Him who sent Me, as long as it is day; night is coming, when no man can work.<\/p>\n

So Jesus tells his disciples that He is going to do something while He is still physically in this world, probably because some of the things that He has done will not happen again until He returns.<\/p>\n

And, we need to remember that just because Jesus is no longer upon this earth in human form, we are still to do something to help, even if we cannot do the miraculous things that Jesus was able to do, and in addition we are to pray that God would do even more.<\/p>\n

We really need to hear what Jesus is telling us in this verse; if we remain in the light, we, not necessarily Jesus, are to work the works of God.<\/p>\n

The Lord is always with us; we just need to remember it.<\/p>\n

And one of the best ways to remember this is to keep working in our own ministries (and all of us have a ministry or calling, if we are truly born again), because no matter what the situations may be; for as we do, we will see His glory being expressed.<\/p>\n

We may never realize the full extent of the role we are playing in God\u2019s overall plan, until the day it, or perhaps all is accomplished.<\/p>\n

If we have any questions or concerns about us being able to do what Jesus is telling us here, take a look at John 14:12, for in it Jesus confirms that we who truly believe can do the works of God, our heavenly Father.<\/p>\n

12. “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go to the Father.<\/p>\n

This does not necessarily mean that we can raise someone from the dead, but if we think about our modern communications, we can reach more people directly than Jesus could during His whole ministry here on earth.<\/p>\n
