Genesis 4:8 – Bible Commentary<\/strong>
\nAnd Cain told Abel his brother. And it came about when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him.<\/p>\n

Cain didn\u2019t master sin, even though the Lord gave him the power to do so. He gave into his sinful nature instead of serving the Lord.<\/p>\n

If we are truly believers, and filled with the Holy Spirit, then that is who we should be every day of the year, even when things don\u2019t work out the way we want them to.<\/p>\n

If we are truly loving, compassionate, empathetic, and peacemaking children of God, then we should live like it every day of the year.<\/p>\n

Abel probably told Cain the truth, and he didn’t want to hear it, so he tries to kill the one who has accountability, and who is acceptable before the Lord.<\/p>\n

Cain also probably thought that if God doesn’t have Abel to praise, then he would receive that praise.<\/p>\n

But that’s not the way of God.<\/p>\n

Genesis 4:8 teaches us that once we consider killing to be an option, it becomes easier and easier to kill other living beings.<\/p>\n
