Living in the Will of God \u2013 04 The Peaceable Kingdom<\/h2>\n

Having looked at a few passages concerning living in the heavenly will of God, let\u2019s now take a look at the way Isaiah sees this coming together here on earth in his vision of the peaceable kingdom in\u00a0Isaiah 11:6-10\u2026<\/p>\n

6. And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
\nAnd the leopard will lie down with the kid,
\nAnd the calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
\nAnd a little boy will lead them.<\/p>\n

7. Also the cow and the bear will graze;
\nTheir young will lie down together;
\nAnd the lion will eat straw like the ox.<\/p>\n

8. And the nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
\nAnd the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.<\/p>\n

9. They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
\nFor the earth will be full of the knowledge of the LORD
\nAs the waters cover the sea.<\/p>\n

This is the way that truly loving, compassionate, and peacemaking children of God really want this world to be. They want to see creation freed from its present corruption into the glory of the kingdom of God.<\/p>\n

But, in verse 9, we are also told why this is not happening today. The earth is not as full of the knowledge of the Lord, as most people think they are.<\/p>\n

And because of this, most people don\u2019t seem to want to live in the creation and heavenly will of God. They want to live in the corrupt and violent ways of the world, and the whole of creation suffers. So Isaiah goes on to tell us what needs to happen next.<\/p>\n

10. Then it will come about in that day
\nThat the nations will resort to the root of Jesse,
\nWho will stand as a signal for the peoples;
\nAnd His resting place will be glorious.
\nNASB<\/p>\n

So that we truly understand what Isaiah is telling us in this verse we need to know who the root of Jesse really is, which we are told in the genealogy of Jesus in Luke 3:23-38.<\/p>\n

In this passage we see that Jesus is the son of David, the son of Jesse, and as we go on to verse 38, we see who the root of Jesse really is.<\/p>\n

38. the son of Enosh, the son of Seth, the son of Adam, the son of God.
\nNASB<\/p>\n

Thus, we know that the root of Jesse that Isaiah is referring to is God, and that the human population must return to truly seeking God, and living in His heavenly will, in order for us to once again have a peaceable kingdom, or\u00a0the peace on earth that God created it to be for us and the whole of creation.<\/p>\n
