According to the Del Norte County Sheriff's Office (DNSO), Search and Rescue is currently assisting the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office (SCSO) Search and Rescue in their attempt to find a missing Crescent City man.

Officials say 46-year-old Jason Cantrall is a Crescent City resident but went on a hunting trip in Siskiyou County and was reported missing Monday by his companion. Cantrall's silver 2012 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup truck has been found near Wards Fork Gap, according to the DNSO. Officials are searching that area.

"We are very concerned about Jason's whereabouts, and we are very concerned about his welfare, based on the duration of his absence and the fact that he has a medical condition has provided an elevated sense of urgency to all search participants," the SCSO said. "Our search and rescue personnel and volunteers and personnel from several jurisdictions are working hard to locate him."

On Oct. 1 at around 4:43 p.m., Cantrall was reported missing by a companion who was with him on the hunting trip. The person who reported him missing said he last saw Cantrall on Sunday, Sept. 30 at around 7 p.m. in the Beaver Creek area near the Klamath River. He was reportedly hunting when he was last seen and left his pickup truck unattended with possessions inside.

Cantrall was reportedly last seen wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans and a black hat. He is a white male adult, 5-foot-11 and about 145 pounds, the SCSO says. He has red hair and blue eyes.

The SCSO says Cantrall has a medical condition which considers him endangered. A major effort has been initiated by the SCSO Search and Rescue team and thus far no sign of the missing man has been found in the vicinity of the abandoned pickup, officials said.

Anyone with information about Jasonís whereabouts is urged to contact the SCSO 24-hour Dispatch Center at 530-841-2900.

Along with SCSO and DNSO, search personnel from Jackson, Josephine and Klamath Counties in Oregon are assisting. Officials also said 15 to 20 family and friends of Cantrall's are conducting searches in the local area. The Jackson County Sheriff's Office has provided a fixed-wing aircraft to help with the search. Four canine teams have also been deployed.
