MN: Morgan teen injured in hunting accident

A 16-year-old girl from Morgan was struck with bird shot while hunting for small game in Brown County west of Morgan around 2 p.m. Monday.

Nadia Marie Meyers suffered non-life-threatening injuries from pellets which struck the back of her legs from a distance of 91 feet. A member of her hunting party had been attempting to shoot a rabbit.

The group was hunting just north of 33070 327th Avenue in Morgan.

Meyers' injuries were treated at Sleepy Eye Medical Center.

The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are investigating the incident.
