MO: Missouri Hunter Shot by Friend Dies

A Missouri man has died after police said a friend accidentally shot him early Saturday morning.

Randell J. Reising, 52, of Arnold, Missouri died early after being shot by his friend Steven A. Lewis according to the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office stated deputies were called to 19920 State Highway Y in rural Lewistown around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

When deputies arrived, they discovered Reising’s body.

Reising was pronounced deceased by Lewis County Coroner an hour later at 5:22 a.m.

The Sheriff’s Office stated it appears Reising was in a hunting cabin with friends preparing for the morning hunt when he was shot by fellow hunter and friend Lewis, 50, also from Arnold, Missouri.

Police stated they will continue to investigate and there is nothing further at this time.

There is an autopsy scheduled with the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office.
