MI: Hunter injured after falling from tree stand

November 17, 2018

A hunter was taken to the hospital after falling from his tree stand.

Around 4 p.m. Friday, a 60-year-old Traverse City man was found in the woods near his deer camp in Missaukee County, according to Michigan State Police Troopers.

Troopers said the man was hunting in a ladder stand that wasn't secured to the tree.

The shooting bar on the stand broke free and the man fell, troopers said.

He was taken to Munson Medical Center in Traverse City and treated for injuries.
