Two people were injured Friday after a car accident not long after another member of their party was injured while hunting.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded around 5:41 p.m. to Plank Road in Penfield for a reported motor vehicle accident. After an investigation, it was discovered that 64-year-old man had fallen in the nearby woods when hunting and possibly broke his ankle.

The previously-injured man as well as a 59-year-old woman were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, a 73-year-old Macedon man, was ticketed for following too closely and moving at an unsafe speed.
