DREAM CREAM: AN AWESOME/RAWSOME DESSERT
A different kind of coffee break

DREAM CREAM:

in Edinburgh, Scotland, on July 9, 2002

NOTE: DREAM CREAM can be made with a Champion or Green Power Juicer or a Vitamix.*

In less than a minute, these machines can turn plain, frozen, uncooked and unadulterated fruit into the scrumptious consistency of Dairy Queen without all the detrimental aspects of processed dairy, sugar, chemicals and additives.

Basic Dream Cream Ingredient: Bananas:

  1. Peel, place on cookie sheet 1 ripe* banana per serving, and freeze until solid.
  2. Remove for use (or store up to several months in a tightly closed zip lock bag).
  3. Feed frozen banana(s) through a Champion Juicer (or Green Power or Vitamix) with blank in place.
  4. "Catch" in container and serve as is or mixed with other pureed fruits or sauces.

For DREAM CREAM Strawberry Parfaits:

  • Clean and cap fresh strawberries.
  • Puree in blender 2-3 strawberries per serving.
  • Alternate a scoop of Banana Dream Cream with a teaspoon of strawberry puree in clear, long stemmed glass (for visual appeal) or other serving dish, ending with a strawberry topping.

Variations:

  • Peel, section and freeze fresh peaches, apricots, mangoes, etc. for other delicious creamy variations.
  • Frozen grapes or frozen, seeded and sectioned oranges result in a lovely, light sherbert consistency ideal for those intent on losing weight;-).

Note: Strawberries lose their flavor when frozen, so best used fresh. Other berries, such as Blueberries and Blackberries freeze well and make a lovely addition when blended with Banana Dream Cream.

Fruits are best used at the peak of their season. Purchase in abundance, clean, section and freeze for future use. Bananas are NOT ripe and flavorful until they have "freckles.";-)

TEENAGERS ADORE inviting friends over and making Dream Cream for them or allowing them to make their own creative versions.

For Chocolate lovers, alternate feeding ˝ banana chunks with Carob Powder!

For Banana splits: Line dish with a split banana and alternate scoops of fresh, frozen banana, pineapple, peach, blueberry, etc. Top with berry puree and a sprinkling of nuts! Enjoy!!!!!

BONUS: Approximately 60 calories per serving versus 360 for typical ice cream dessert.

Also NO ZITS!!! Sugary and fat-laden foods cause Zits. Fresh Fruit acts as a body cleanser and has no added sugars, milk or chemicals.
