ANIMAL GOOD NEWS

PET SUPPLIES PLUS is my new discovery for the obvious.  The one in Lake Park, Florida carries Oxbow bunny products – THE BEST!!!

In addition, the franchise owner, Mark, has compassion for these little critters!  While the store already has kitten and cat adoptions on the weekends (they sell birds, small rodents, and fish), there used to be bunny sales at Easter.

This year I literally BEGGED Mark not to sell Easter rabbits.  And guess what?  One of his associates hooked the store up with The Wildlife Center in Fort Lauderdale (where my Max was adopted) and has made a place for a permanent adopt-a-bunny.  One has been adopted so far.

Unfortunately, it takes time.  A Wildlife Center representative checks out peoples’ homes for wires and child issues before allowing the adoption.  Potential bunny parents learn about the intricacies of bringing home a house rabbit.  Many people turn away and go elsewhere because they just do not understand that Easter bunnies are not toys but commitments and think it’s crazy to have a home check.

Anyway, I opened the website and discovered that pet lovers own the franchises.  Individual stores hold various events and promote adoption.  Many have their own sites.  Here is the home page for the Pet Supplies Plus website.   Check out the real thing on line and in your area!
