ANIMAL GOOD NEWS

Kyle and Kevin Sloan, the Ames, Iowa brothers who beat to death nearly 100 turkeys at a farm in November 2002 (see: www.hsus.org/ace/15899), have been sentenced for several crimes, including livestock abuse.

On Monday, April 28, Judge Michael Moon sentenced Kyle Sloan in Story County District Court to a twenty-year suspended prison term, five years probation and mandatory completion of a six-month military-style boot camp. He also must graduate from high school. One week earlier, brother Kevin Sloan was sentenced to five years probation for his role in the crime spree.
