UPDATE: CHARGES UPGRADED IN WISCONSIN STARVATION CASE

According to reports, the Marquette County District Attorney’s Office has upgraded the charges against Fausto Florez for allegedly starving to death at least twenty animals under his care (see HUMANElines Issue 247). Mr. Florez now faces multiple felony charges as well as a single misdemeanor charge after authorities discovered a pile of dead sheep and goats, alongside others who were starving but still alive, on his property. District Attorney Richard Dufour has also pledged to do what he can to ensure the welfare of the remaining animals.
